We'll help you get up on the board or make real progress
Both of our programs share one thing in common: you learn in shallow water with no waves. Solid ground under your feet, steady wind, and an instructor in touch by radio. In these conditions, you progress faster than in most other places in the world.
Yes. A kite safari offers ideal conditions for learning kiteboarding — out at sea, the wind is more frequent and steadier, the water is knee- to waist-deep, and it's smooth with no waves.
On every safari, there are always students starting from scratch — sometimes more of them than experienced kiters. The atmosphere helps a lot: you're surrounded by people who love kiting. In that kind of company, progress comes faster.
Smooth water is exactly what you need for practicing jumps, turns, and going upwind. Learning tricks on flat water like this is much easier. Your instructor gives feedback on your technique by radio while you're on the water.
On Mauritius — lessons are 2–3 hours, and the rest of the time you can explore the island together. On the safari — there's snorkeling, diving, wakeboarding, and an amazing beach.

Oleg Grebennikov — founder of Kitefun and IKO instructor
Hello! I'm Oleg Grebennikov. I've been kiting since 2003.
I taught myself — it was fun, but it took a long time. After riding my first hundred meters, I was so thrilled that the feeling has stayed with me ever since.
I've been teaching since 2010. I'm certified by the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization). The most important thing for me is teaching people to ride safely. Kiteboarding is fun and a source of many happy moments, and I want it to stay that way for you, always.
In summer and winter, I live and teach kiting on the island of Mauritius. If you have any questions — write to me personally. I'll answer them and tell you which option will suit you best.
Opinions from experienced riders, from people who got their first taste of kitesurfing on a safari, and from those who came along just for the company.

Kite safaris run in spring and autumn. The rest of the year, we teach on Mauritius: a lagoon with waist-deep water, steady wind, and the IKO program. A full course from scratch takes 4–5 days.
Both options work great for beginners. Egypt — you spend a week on a comfortable yacht, moving between islands that have perfect conditions for learning and riding. This is the ideal choice if you only have a week off. A full reset and fast progress. Mauritius — you combine lessons with exploring the island, which is stunningly beautiful. You stay in a hotel or apartment wherever feels most comfortable to you. It's best to come for two weeks or more.
In both places, you'll find shallow water, a smooth surface, steady wind, and waist-deep depth. On safari, you can ride for up to 10 hours a day. On Mauritius, lessons are 2–3 hours.
Safari — from €1,400 per person (8 days, all-inclusive: accommodation, meals, transfers, insurance, photos). Lessons on Mauritius — from €100 per hour; a full course from scratch is €800. Lessons during a safari are paid separately — €80 per hour.
No. All equipment is provided and included in the price of the lessons. But if you're already an experienced rider and don't need lessons, we also rent out gear for a separate fee.
Safari in Egypt — spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October). Mauritius — winter and summer.
On safari — smooth water for jumps and tricks. Ideal conditions for working on new moves. We rent out equipment. On Mauritius — Level 3 training (jumps, transitions, riding upwind) or gear rental if you want to ride on your own.
Yes. On safari: snorkeling, diving, wakeboarding, the beach, yoga — everything's included. On Mauritius: lessons take 2–3 hours, and the rest of the time you can explore the island together.
